I lived in Budapest for a year in 2002 and have been missing my Dobos Torte and flodni ever since. I was especially excited to read about the chimney cakes. I had no idea that’s what they are called. When I lived there the only place I knew to get them was from a vendor out at the airport. Usually once a week I would take the train all the way out there, buy a chimney cake, and ride all the way back. As you know, they are really that good.

After having read all of your remarkable research I now realize how much I failed to discover while I was in Budapest. Time for a vacation I guess.

We’ve made plans for Hungary in August (a month from now, yay!) and by the look of those cookies I’m already glad we did.
