Hi Robyn! How long did you end up staying in Split? I am a big believer in the slow travel movement, so I am not sure that 40 days was even enough in Split. I also like to give trips more time because my primary objectives when experiencing a city are to eat and drink as many of their specialties as possible, which is definitely best spread out over a longer period of time, if possible. But we were so fortunate to get to spend a whole year traveling, and I certainly understand that many people are working with constrained time off from work or travel budgets! If you have a limited amount of time, you can probably hit the main sights here in a day and a half. But Split is also a great jumping off point for taking day trips to the surrounding areas (Krka, Mostar, so a week would be ideal!

Nice article about my native town. I’m glad you find Split a good place to taste typical Dalmatian food.

This is a great post! We are heading to Split in less than a week and we are going to look up a couple of the places that you’ve mentioned. We are only in Split for two days and then we move on to Dubrovnik, Montenegro and finally, Sarajevo. Thank you for the suggestions!
